Chadds Ford Tree Service Founder Robert King grew up in Chadds Ford, just a stone’s throw from where the family home and business are located off Route 1 near the Brandywine Battlefield.

Rob found his calling as a young scout earning the Forestry Merit Badge in Boy Scouts.  His first job as a teenager was cleaning out trees that were blown down during storms and recycling them into firewood.

Rob’s love of the area and its rich forests led to his enrolling in Penn State’s forestry program. Upon graduation, and after working for the Natural Lands Trust, Rob founded Chadds Ford Tree Service in 1979.

Our commitment to our staff is shown through our ongoing education and training as well as competitive wages and good benefits. Additionally, we foster a safe workplace by providing safety equipment to all and by maintaining our equipment through routine service and repairs when needed. We are fully insured, and we are proud of our excellent safety record, which is reflected in our exceptionally low workers’ compensation rating.  Our Certificate of Insurance is available upon request.

Our commitment to the environment

Chadds Ford Tree Service is a preservation and recycling leader! We take responsible care of our area’s forestry resources.

Whether it’s pruning to promote tree health, removing dead or dangerous trees, or any other tree care, we make sure any tree or tree part that is removed is recycled to be used as chips for gardens and walking paths, as firewood for indoor heating and ambiance and for outdoor firepits, and as lumber for building structures, furniture, or wood art.

We are happy to help educate customers on tree management: what’s good for the land and what can cause both short- and long-term harm. Together we can preserve the natural wonder of our community and surrounding area.
